Winter Holy Friday – Translation and Analysis of the Canon of the Forefeast of the Nativity of Christ on 23rd December

The Feast of the Nativity of Christ in its liturgical celebrations resembles the most important of all feasts – the Resurrection of Christ. One similarity is the extended pre‑Christmas period, the last days of which (20–24 December) resemble the Holy Week. This article is a translation and a commentary on the canon on 23rd December, which paraphrases the canon of the Holy Friday.
