This article addresses the issue of churches existing in the interwar period in the village of Medvedie, Šariš. This region underwent significant religious changes during this time – some local Ruthenians left the Uniate Church and converted to Orthodoxy. This turmoil also affected the buildings themselves, as the article attempts to demonstrate by focusing on the village of Medvedie. The main used methods were a critical analysis of sources from various periods and provenances, as well as a comparison of these sources with one another and with the literature on the subject. As a result of the research, it was determined that two churches were built in Medvedie during the interwar period, due to the fire of an 18th-century church. The article does not clarify all the doubts surrounding the topic, due to the limited number of the available sources and literature. However, it does demonstrate that Šariš was a region of religious turmoil during the interwar period.
