About the Journal

"Elpis" is an international, reviewed and interdisciplinary journal of the Department of Orthodox Theology at the University of Bialystok, which presents a wide spectrum of topics related to Orthodox theology, history and culture.  The objective of the journal is to present contemporary Orthodox theology and to propagate the work of theologians, historians and philologists in their fields associated with Orthodoxy.  

“Elpis” constitutes a continuation of the journal of the Department of Orthodox Theology of the University of Warsaw which was published between 1926 and 1939 under the same title.    Since 1999, “Elpis” has been published as the annual journal of the Department of Orthodox Theology of the University of Bialystok.

“Elpis” is currently published in electronic form.
